Supporting the Homeless

The Activity Group in the Nursing Home beaver away during the year producing artistic cards, candles, crafts and all sort of lovely knitted garments. They sell these at a Sale of Work in November. This year the Sale netted Euro 6.300 - half of it went to Cluny Missions in Cameroons and the other half to the Capuchin Day Centre in Bow Street.

Br. Kevin Crowley OFM Cap. - Director of the Centre is seen here receiving a cheque for Euro 3.000. Also in the picture are students from the Mount Sackville Primary School. Students, staff and parents from both schools helped at the Sale of Work. Br. Kevin described the work of the Centre - providing breakfasts, lunches and food for an average of 480 homeless people six days each week. It was heartening to know that whether one was 9 or 90 they could make a difference.
